As a result of the ZIP Code Boundary Review requested by the Chesterfield County Administrator’s office, the following addressing options will be available beginning June 15, 2011.

“North Chesterfield, VA” will become an acceptable (or alternate) community name to be used in the last line of the mailing address for Chesterfield County residents in ZIP Codes 23224, 23225, 23234, 23235, 23236 and 23237, while “Richmond, VA” will remain as the preferred (or primary) name within the address.  Also, Chesterfield County residents in ZIP Codes 23803 and 23834 may use “South Chesterfield” as an acceptable community name while “Richmond, VA” will remain as the preferred name.

A formal change-of-address filing will not be required or accepted from residents as a result of this change.  Media inquiries should be made to Chesterfield County at 804-748-1211.

Community members and school leaders will prepare to start updating the school system’s Design for Excellence comprehensive plan during a workshop with Gary Marx, president of the Center for Public Outreach.

A donation of land yields Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation its fourth conservation area. Like its predecessors, this new site protects valuable wetlands and riparian habitat.

The other three conservation areas include the Dutch Gap Conservation Area and the Brown & Williamson Conservation Area along the James River and the Radcliffe Conservation Area along the Appomattox River. The new site, which is still unnamed, will protect almost two miles of riverfront along the lower Swift Creek. Situated in the Bermuda District, the new park site is bordered on the west by Interstate 95 and on the north by Walthall Industrial Park. The Swift Creek delineates its southern and eastern borders.
