Online Boutique Speaks to Big Dogs

Online Boutique Speaks to Big Dogs

MIDLOTHIAN – If owners of large dogs are tired of constantly replacing destroyed chew toys, an online boutique specifically designed to solve this problem may be able to save owners some money and trips to the pet store.

Founded in 2009 by Georgia Cole, Barker’s Dog Boutique specializes in products for medium to large dogs.  Cole’s emphasis is durability and high quality that can withstand a big dog’s rough play.

“As the owner of a Doberman pinscher, I realized how difficult it is to find chew toys and other items in retail stores that are durable enough and made especially for larger dogs,” said Cole in a press release.  “It occurred to me that other large breed pet owners must have the same problem.”

Along with toys, the boutique website sells bowls, beds, treats and accessories such as collars and lifetime guaranteed ID tags.  A team of big dogs, including Mastiffs, Dobermans, Boxers, Labradors and mutts, test all these products before

Alternatives to Declawing Your Cat

Alternatives to Declawing Your Cat

It’s easy to understand the appeal of a declawed cat—no need to worry about clawed up furniture, carpet, or family members. But from a cat’s point of view, declawing probably doesn’t seem like such a great idea. Traditionally, the process of declawing a cat involves amputating the cat’s “finger” at the first knuckle joint, a painful and traumatizing process with a potentially long and difficult recovery, physically and behaviorally.

Some cats can develop behavior problems as a result of having been declawed—it may hurt the cat to scratch in his litter box so as a result he might start peeing elsewhere in the house. A declawed cat is also much more likely to bite, and cat bites can become badly infected.
